Throw Your Own Party
The fun activities going on in your community are a great option, but you can still throw your own party. Sometimes hosting a party is the best way to remain sober on celebration days like the 4th of July, because you can control the situation – who attends and what is served. Surround yourself with supportive family and friends who know how to have fun without alcohol.
Always Be Prepared
If you and your family decide to attend any of the Independence Day celebrations in Prescott, Prescott Valley or Flagstaff, be prepared for temptations. Research the events ahead of time and take note of any potential triggers that might be there. Make your family aware of a backup plan in case you feel like you need to step away from the festivities.
